All of us have a "secret garden" of the heart. How we tend that garden will determine what words we speak and what behavior we exhibit. Proverbs wisely teaches us to
"keep our hearts with all diligence." The word keep means
"to watch or guard with fidelity." Guarding what we take into our hearts and monitoring our response will determine what takes root there.
God wants us to water the seeds He plants in our hearts. If we neglect to nurture our hearts, in order for them to grow in the way God wants...the garden fills with weeds and eventually dies! But
if we do protect and nurture our hearts, we will produce love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Now...how are you tending your garden?

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.
