Black Summer's Night: "Gotta Get It!"

I'm back to bloggin', people! It's funny. I've been on a little hiatus from blogging just because I've been a little busy with grad school, my church, family, friends, and my girlfriend. However, I felt the need to let you all in on what has inspired me to continue to blog.

MAXWELL has just released his highly anticipated album, "Black Summer's Night," today. Listen to the single, "Pretty Wings." Magnificent! I don't even purchase CDs but I will be running to the mall right after work before it is SOLD OUT!

Listen Carefully!

The ATM in South Korea is an adventure in itself

Being in Korea, you definitely have to be able to adjust to certain things. Even the smaller things in life, like finding an ATM that will accept your Mastercard! See how happy I am for an ATM that will finally accept my card..

The Korean Pre-school version of Alpha Phi Alpha

My kangaroo class is simply HILARIOUS! Often times, they ask me to tell them about what I do in America. So this time I took the opportunity to tell them about my fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. At the outset, I had to tell them what a fraternity was so they would understand why I joined and why I do what I do in my fraternity. That was not an easy feat; let me tell you you.

They asked so many questions, I felt like I was been hazed! But overall, they got a better understanding of what a fraternity is and why I love it so much. All in all, they learned a lot and we had a ball actin' like clowns. Watch this video!

My students and I brought back "MC Hammer"

It was the Friday before the Chuseok Holiday school vacation and all of the staff and students were told to wear a Korean traditional Hanbok. The school ordered Hanboks for the foreigners. It's funny because when they handed us the boxes with the Hanboks in them, I said jokingly, "I bet mine is pink." Lawd, if it wasn't all pink... see, God has a sense of humor. lol Next time I'll just keep my mouth closed. :)

Down to the socks

Here in South Korea, Koreans love to adorn their feet with colorful and cartoon-like socks. If you think about it makes a lot of sense. They spend so much time with their shoes off, they must have gotten board looking people's plain black or white socks. It's amazing how there are so many little street car side businesses there are in this country. And the socks are only 50 cents a pair. I can be child-like often; I bring out my cartoon personality from time to time.

During the course of this year, I think I have collected nearly 20 pair of childish socks. I called them conversation pieces because every time I take my shoes off, someone always looks down and laughs. And then the conversation begins. lol
