Fire & Ice out on the ice, ice skating on our day off...and I didn't fall!

I didn't fall because majority of the time I was using the lil baby/senior walker. I don't know what it is about ice skating but I just cannot get the hang of it! Me and the lil babies skatin' around with the lil walkers still about to fall. lol. Then there is Shannonshowing off, lol, skating in reverse, doing spins, and back flips. lol.

It's just not right. But get me out on that roller skating rink and you'll think I was in the movie with TI and them. lol

HAPPY BELATED VETERANS DAY!!! Now back to work! lol

Shannon is getting much better! I'm proud of her. We haven't played pool since earlier on in our relationship. Well, let me get back to my game before I end up losing! Gone!

Wait until I get off of work! I can't wait to talk about NSU's Homecoming! Had a time!

As soon as I get to my laptop, I'ma write about how much fun I had at Homecoming. By the time I begin writing, my frat brothers and friends will have posted their pictures to Facebook so that way I can steal a few to post up here on my blog. lol. They won't mind, I'm sure.

PS. I have never EVER seen or met so many my bruhs at Homecoming in my life! It was amazing. There were bruhs who crossed in 1964. That is second line of brothers who came through my chapter. Couldn't believe it! Still can't!

...going to see JD Lawrence's "The Clean Up Woman

My girlfriend, Shannon, and I are apart of a group called the Urban Theatre Arts Club (UTAC)‏. Shannon has been a part of the group early on but I just joined recently. "The Clean Up Woman" will be the first event for me with the group. UTAC is a Christian group of men, women and children who fellowship in Christ at concerts, comedy shows, and stage plays throughout Washington, DC and literally across the nation. Also, we support Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU's) through scholarship dinners, sports (i.e. attendance at football and basketball games) and local and/or national conferences. In addition, UTAC attends the annual United Negro College Fund's (UNCF) tribute to a celebrity each September in Pasadena, California.

August 9, 2009 - Eric Benet - Mint Condition - Ruben Studdard Concert @ DAR.

August 21, 2009 - Comedian Wanda Sykes at The Warner Theatre

Sept 12, 2009 - United Negro College Fund's (UNCF) An Evening of Stars (AEOS) Tribute to Lionel Richie formerly of the Commodores. Taped in Pasadena, California. It will be broadcast January 24 or 25, 2010. Formerly called The Lou Rawls Parade of Stars.

The Clean Up Woman is the hilarious new hit stage play sweeping the country written and directed by JD Lawrence. The play follows the life of Terri Adams, a journalist who pushes aside her newlywed domestic apron for a six figure Anchor Job with WNY5. But when Terri starts neglecting home for her new position, her supportive husband comes to his wits end and demands she clean up her act, starting with the house. To keep the peace, her man and her job, Terri hires a local cleaning service recommended by a co-worker. But if not careful, she just might find "The Clean Up Woman" picking up more than she's supposed to. JD Lawrence plays seven characters in the play (including a Hindu cab-driver, a 75 year old white man, a rapper, and a stylist). It also stars Emmy award winner Jackée Harry, Telma Hopkins and singer/actor Christopher Williams. The play has broken box office records around the country including the title of the highest grossing stage play since 1977 at the renowned Arts and Letters in Dallas.

Tyler Perry's "Laugh To Keep From Crying"

My girlfriend and I went to see Tyler Perry's new stageplay, "Laugh To Keep From Crying," at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC last night. It was absolutely hilarious! He did it again. And he wasn't even in the play but he had a great cast. Every last character could sing...and I mean blow without anuy imperfections or strains. The plot and lesson was very clear and recognizable.

I highly recommend this play EVERYONE! Go see it! It'll be here until this Sunday, then they're going to Philly and B'more!

Floyd the landlord was hilarious!

Laugh To Keep From Crying is the latest play developed by Tyler Perry. This 11th production touches the depths of our souls as it explores confusion versus an illustration of courage.

The story line is based on life's struggles in the inner city. How does one understand and protect young people; how do you manage to keep a roof over your head when you lose your job; how do you separate true love from a deceiver? A family that receives redemption and a neighborhood that comes together with hope, love and respect are demonstrated. As they say during difficult times, you have to "Laugh To Keep From Crying"!

The ensemble includes Palmer Williams, Jr. ("Floyd" of Tyler Perry's House of Payne and The Marriage Counselor) who gets involved in everyone's business - this time as the landlord; you'll remember Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley, from previous stageplays and movies, as she portrays a single mother with 2 teenagers; D'atra Hicks, has been in 2 past productions - now who could forget her voice; Chandra Currelley, a very familiar face and talent in his productions; and Mr. Perry is bringing back Tamar Davis, Stephanie Ferrett, and Donnie Sykes from "The Marriage Counselor".

Shannon and I attended the MAXWELL concert and had a ball!

This was the second LIVE concert that I have attended ever. The first that I went to see was India Irie. I enjoyed myself at each concert. Maxwell performed extraordinarily well. I do recommend that you try your hardest to be in attendance at his next concert. You will enjoy yourself!

Man On A Mission...For God

Recently, I decided to take the gift that God has given me and share it with others. Tomorrow, Saturday, January 24th, 2009, myself and one of the members of my team of performers will be delivering a poetic performance at a young men's conference. The theme of the conference is "A Man On a Mission...For God." We will be delivering two of my poems, "Speak To My Heart" and "Each One, Teach One."

I Won't Complain- Christmas Poem

A place to chill! Busboys & Poets

I finally found a chill spot in Washington, DC where I can go and get on my laptop and just browse or just read a good book. I just recently returned from Seoul, South Korea, a place where you can find a number of places to go and relax. Korea isn't as go, go, go as the states. So I'm not used to being so busy and just always having to be somewhere all of the time. Before I arrived in the states, I vowed to find time for myself for at least a couple of hours. Now, I have somewhere to call "my spot." I am here now. I just got out of Bible Study so I figured instead of going home at 9pm and lay up in the bed looking at my laptop screen, I'll go to my spot, Busboys & Poets.

BBP is a cool place off of 14 & U St. in NW Washington, DC. It has a library, bar, lounge, restaurant, and an auditorium where they have open mic night on Tuesdays. I missed yesterday's open mic night because I was working. Next week, I'll be taking a close friend of mine so that should be fun.

I think I'll be here chillin' quite often. It closes at midnight during the week and at 2am on the weekends. I'm loving the hours.
