Well, I just returned from my ol' Alma Mater, Norfolk State University, celebrating my first Homecoming since I graduated in '06 and my 26th Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!! My birthday and the homecoming game were both on the same day which was Saturday but I traveled down to Norfolk on the Thursday prior just to enjoy the homecoming festivities they had during the week. I hung out with my frat brothers, younger and older, and just had a grand ol' time! I think this might have been the best birthday I've ever had.
It was just a combination of things that has allowed me to make that statement. I recently returned from a year long stay in South Korea and I missed the last few Homecomings due to work and whatever else I chose to put before FUN. So I haden't seen the friends that I have made while I was in college since May of 2006. And everyone was just so happy and surprised to see me that some of my friends shed tears when they saw me. It felt really goood to know that people who you created and developed friendships with could miss me so much. I missed them as well. Needless to say, majority of them were females but you get the point. lol No, but I've missed a lot of male firends. Most of them are my fraternity brothers but a lot of them were just good friends who I knew I could trust.
A vast mojority of my friends had heard of where I've been and projects I have been putting together. It was great to hear so many people say, "I'm proud of you! You've represented Norfolk State well." And this was coming from my peers, not older people.
And for it to be my birthday too, it was just an all around great weekend. Close to the end of the weekend, I checked my email and saw that close to 250 of my friends and family wished me a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
It couldn't have been any better than it was!
I HAD SO MUCH FUN THAT I ACCIDENTALLY LEFT MY CAMERA AT MY FRIENDS HOUSE IN NORFOLK! I"LL POST PICS AND VIDEOS WHEN HE MAILS IT TO ME!!! lol
