George Washington University offers an opportunity to earn a Masters

I'm excited about a new opportunity that I recently found on Craigslist.org! It's an opportunity to earn a Masters is Education and a teaching license at George Washington University within 15 months. It looks very promising. Here is the appeal.

WHAT: The Literacy Cooperative allows you to earn a Masters degree and a teaching license in 15 months. You will receive a scholarship for 75% of your tuition and a monthly stipend.

Information for Prospective Teachers:

The Literacy Cooperative program is one of many ways to earn a Master's degree in Education from George Washington University. This program is unique in that it focuses on urban teaching and emphasizes the Graduate School of Education and Human Development's commitment to the District of Columbia and its children.

You might be interested in the Literacy Cooperative program if you meet these criteria:

  1. You currently do not hold a teaching credential
  2. You have a strong background in literacy as demonstrated by a bachelor's degree
  3. Your undergraduate GPA was not less than 2.75
  4. You desire to teach in DC public schools and are willing to teach for a minimum of two years to meet the requirements of the scholarship award
  5. You care deeply about children in urban areas and want to gain an exceptional education that will prepare you to provide high-quality education to DC youth

The degrees available through the Literacy Cooperative are:

If you are accepted into the Literacy Cooperative program, the US DOE grant that funds this program will pay for approximately 75% of one year’s tuition, and will provide a stipend. In exchange for this extraordinary level of funding, you commit to teaching in the DCPS for no less than two years following the receipt of your degree.
