I have always been proud of the many great things my illustrious fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., has done in and for this world. Joining this fraternity definitely has taught me many things that I will continue to take with me everyday. I knew that becoming a member would give me many different advantages in life. However, I did not not know to what extent. I was aware of the fact that no matter where I went in the US, I could call up a brother and have him link me up with another brother or group of brothers from the area that I was in.
I'm not in the United States right now. I am in Seoul, South Korea and have been here for a year. It is so comforting to know that it doesn't matter where in the WORLD I am; I have family that will take me in and provide me with hospitality as if I were related to them by blood. It's a great feeling.
The graduate chapter here in Seoul, South Korea is remarkable in their service and in their fellowship. When I communed with them, they welcomed me with open arms like I expected. I was surprised to see so many "bruhs" in a chapter so far away from the states. It was amazing. It felt just like being back on the "yard" (college campus).
The Mu Phi Lambda has more than 40 members presently in their chapter and they exemplify the meaning of Scholarship, Manly Deeds, and Love for all Mankind. They are out here in Korea serving the community as if they were in their home country. The brothers raise money, sponsor sold out events, step like they are in college; they do it all.
One of the brothers told me that they made history in the fraternity by conducting a chapter meeting on "The Great Wall of China." I couldn't believe it! Simply amazing!
Here are some pictures from their Fraternity Family Reunion, coming off of the summer vacation.
