The good 'ol days...

I signed into my Facebook account the other evening acknowledging the fact that I recently requested the friendship of of one of my best friends from the early stages of grade school. And along with that "friend request," I noticed that I attached a message saying,

"whut up dude? have you talk to Jerome or Rahfeed since way back when? Mr. Battle, my dad, told me to tell you he said what's up."

Now, prior to requesting his friendship and sending that message, I remembered a similar scenario on Myspace. We added each other as friends, sent a message or two, and tagged each others walls a few times to find out how each of us was doing after 12 or 13 years. After a while, we kinda got busy with life and I sort of stopped frequenting Myspace a bit because it became a little boring to me, but I digress.

Well, Facebook notified me that he had accepted my friend request. Then I also noticed that I had a few messages in my inbox. One of them was a reply from 'my dude from way back, Joshua Cribbs, who now plays in the NFL as kick return for the Cleveland Browns. I can't even count the number of records he has broken, the number yards he has gained, or the number touchdouns he has scored.

The dude has an official website. It's not a game.

Check out this clip of him returning a kick for a 100 yard touchdaown.

Check out this interview of him talking about coming into the NFL as a quarterback and fing his niche on the team.

Oh sorry, back to my initial reason for this blog post. The dude is crazy though, lol. But anyway, as I read his message, memories of grade school began to reappear as if I had been watching clips of old times. Josh and I rolled tight in elementary school. We had like a circle of friends that could not be seperated. It was me, Josh, Rahveed, Jerome, Martin, Brian, Chaz, and a few others I can't really recall at this moment. We used to like the same girls. I think we might have dated a few of the same ones, lol. But relationships didn't last too long back then. Dating meant that the boy asked the girl if she like him. Then if she 'checked yes,' he would ask, 'Will you go with me?' lol. I remember having a girlfriend for 3 days, lol. Anyway, we had fun as kids. I'm really happy for the boy. This is part of what he had to say in the message...
